Winter Is Coming! Celebrating Black Friday with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Game of Thrones Style

Last night's final Friday at the Philadelphia Museum of Art had to be one of my favourites. Of course, the Halloween one was a favourite, but Winter Is Coming! topped my list. I will admit that I've never watched Game of Thrones, but I wanted to see Piffaro, the Philadelphia Renaissance Band. They are a staple on WRTI, the classical music station I love, and wanted to see them live.

When I arrived at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, I wanted to charge my phone. All of the tables were full, but an older couple permitted me to sit at their table so I could charge my phone. We ended up talking and having a good time. I ordered a Shirley Temple. At around 6, I decided I wanted to catch Piffaro and they watched my belongings while I went to see Piffaro.

Piffaro let me get a picture with them. They were friendly and I was excited to hear their performances. They did not disappoint!

Before I went into the Johnson Old Masters exhibit, I decided to check out the Game of Thrones scavenger hunt. It was simple - I had to walk around the collection and take photos of artwork that depicts the different clues. We could be as creative as we wanted to be. I was excited about this and had a great time posing in front of the artwork in the Johnson collection that I thought depicted the Game of Throne clues.

However, in the other galleries, I didn't pose. I didn't want to disrespect the religious paintings and in the contemporary American exhibits, it was hard to pose. In between visiting the galleries, I did get to witness a live sword fight! They also instructed us on how swords were used during the Medieval period.

I won a prize though and the Museum staff loved my photos! They said I took some great photos and came up with some great ideas with poses. That made me happy and it felt great to win a little something for my creativity.

Here are some other photos from around the exhibits. I didn't enter them into the contest, but I wanted to capture other pieces of cool artwork.

I love how Ghost is illuminated by the tree lights.

Before I left for the night, I had to get some photos of me in my cute snowman jumper. I love snowmen and I received many compliments last night.

I had a fun night at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and had a great night ice skating (that entry will come tomorrow).
