Relaxing Friday Evening at the Philadelphia Museum of Art

Unless it's the end of the month, Friday nights are usually laid back at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. At the end of every month, the museum has something called "Final Fridays" where there are two performances and other activities. I am going to next week's (Winter is Coming), but I wanted to check out Fridays After 5 on an off Friday. I am glad I did - it was nice and relaxing.

I ordered a Meditteranean dish - a sample of hummus, grape leaves stuffed with rice, pickled veggies, olives, and Naan bread. It was good and it filled the void. The jazz musicians were also great and I loved listening to the music. I listened for a good hour until I decided I would walk around.

I noticed there were a lot of students in attendance this week. They were international students that are studying in Philadelphia until the next year. Mezma, a young woman from Saudi Arabia; Jenny, a young woman from China, and I walked around the Medieval exhibits. I was telling them both about the museum and we talked about other things too. It was nice walking around with them, they were very nice young ladies and they both have bright futures.

I wished them both well and I headed home. It was a nice Friday night out. The Philadelphia Museum of Art is also decorated for the season and it looks beautiful!

Looking forward to what next Friday brings.

    1. Hi Janie,

One reason I love my art museum membership - the programs are amazing!

I'm an introvert, but I seem to have a knack with meeting one or two people when I travel. I have job finding anxiety now and I mentioned this to someone I work with at the library. I said, "I'm likable and I seem to make friends easily." She became really angry - "those are not friends! They are people you meet while traveling!" I never mention it to her anymore.

      Love,
      Jessica
