Thankful Thursday 9//7/2017

Happy Thankful Thursday! I can't believe this is the first Thursday in September, this year is really flying by.

Last Friday, I watched my co-worker's daughter. I have tons of vacation time and I am trying to use some up before I leave. I also wanted to spend time with the eight-year-old and offered to watch her. Her school was off for the Islamic New Year. The little girl was a joy to watch and we both had a blast. My co-worker said her daughter couldn't stop talking about our day out and it made her really happy. Hearing that made me really happy too and I am thankful that my co-worker allowed me to watch her daughter. I am thankful for the experience.

I am also thankful for the time spent in Baltimore. I have always loved Baltimore and the people I met while on my trip really solidified my love for the city. I met a lot of nice people, people that welcomed me with opened arms and made my trip enjoyable. On the way home, my Lyft driver said to me, "Miss Jessica, I am glad you decided to travel to Baltimore to see the baseball game because I had the pleasure of meeting a beautiful person like yourself. I hope you have a safe trip home." It made me feel great. I even talked to some nice people while waiting for the Poe House museum to open. Many of the residents were friendly and wished me a good day. Gotta be thankful for nice experiences in the not-so-nice spots. I think people are people and income doesn't matter how friendly they are. I think anyone can be kind, especially if they are shown kindness. I said "hi" first and they all responded positively.

I'm also thankful that I am starting to feel a bit better. I still need some more rest, but I think by the weekend I will be okay. Lastly, I am also thankful that Ms. Ernestine won me a stuffed ghost last Friday. I wasn't at work then, so she surprised me on Tuesday when we returned to work. I am thankful she thought of me and I added the stuffed ghost to my happiness box. My happiness box is starting to overflow.

What are you thankful today?
