Thankful Thursday 9/28/2017

Happy Thursday! I can't believe this is the last Thursday of September - we only have three more months left of this year and my Happiness Box is looking amazing! I've had to resort to folding Post-It notes because I don't want the box to overflow before December 31. Of course, there might be a few days where something larger than a Post-It note makes it into the box. The first half of the box filled on 7/31, so I think the box top should be okay (the top is the same size as the bottom). I'm excited to "open" my box on 12/31!

Anyway, I have a lot to be thankful for this week. I'm thankful that the Children's Hospital raised over $1 million during Sunday's walk. I am thankful for everyone that came together to help children and their families. It brings tears to my eyes.

I'm also thankful that dad has been taking me to the train in the morning and taking me to Starbucks before catching the train. I'm thankful that mom bought the tickets for us to see Trans Siberia Orchestra in December - I am looking forward to that concert! I am thankful for my friends and family.

I also can't wait for the weather to break this weekend and have fall-like temperatures again. It has been hot and humid for the past few days, but our leaves are starting to change colour! I can't wait for their peak in a few weeks. I love autumn.

I can't forget the Library Reading Dog! Star is a rescue Greyhound and I love when his owner brings him in. Such a sweet boy and the children love reading to Star!

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

The fact that Star, the rescue Greyhound, is off the track and serving as an ambassador of goodwill happily greeting children at the library is something for which to be truly thankful.

I am thrilled to learn that the Children's Hospital raised over a million dollars as a result of the run/walk event. Congratulations once again to you, your mother and your aunt Kathy for participating.

You have a great dad and I am sure you both enjoy the chance to start your day with a cup of Starbucks.

I have heard that the Trans Siberia Orchestra puts on an incredible show. I share your excitement as their December concert approaches.

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi Shady,

Agreed! Someone that lives near my uncle rescued two and every once in a while I see them walking. I love stopping by and seeing the greyhounds. They're such friendly, sweet dogs. It's a shame that they are so abused.

Thank you, dear friend! I hope you have a great weekend.

  2. Star is adorable. I'm thankful to be here.

    1. I almost want to read to him myself. I think that could be fun, even for an adult! I love animals.
