Roller Skating on Labor Day | Captured on Film

My film pictures came in today! YAY! The pictures from Washington, D.C., Baltimore, and Labor Day at the River Rink all look great! I am going to share the pictures I took with a disposable camera on Labor Day. Enjoy!

On Labor Day, I decided to venture down to Penn's Landing for the last day of Summerfest. It was a warm day and I was starting to catch a cold, but I wanted to get some time in before Summerfest becomes Winterfest on Black Friday. Since the summer was humid and/or rainy, I didn't have a chance to rollerskate as much as I wanted to and I was sad to learn that roller skating is not extended into the fall (to prepare the roller rink into an ice rink). I wanted to get roller skating in on that day.

I lasted an hour, despite the heat, humidity, and my oncoming cold, I managed to roller skate for an hour. On my way out from the River Rink, I was walking with a family. The four-year-old boy loved the disposable camera and I handed it over to him to take a few pictures. He took a few photos of his grandma. He was such a cute little boy.

I had such a great time at SummerFest and looking forward to Winterfest.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I enjoyed viewing this series of pictures taken on the last day of Summerfest at Penn's Landing. I'm sorry you had a cold that day and needed to endure hot, sticky weather to get in your last roller skating of the season. I hope by now you are feeling 100% and the temps have turned cool and pleasant, putting you in the mood for Winterfest activities. It was nice of you to share your camera with that little boy. You always set an example for the people of this country and this world. Never miss an opportunity to reach out and turn a stranger into a friend.

Have a great week, dear friend JM!
