Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial | Washington, D.C.

The first stop in D.C. was to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial. There are no words to describe the peace I felt while strolling around the memorial. Between Dr. King's beautiful speeches, the garden that lines the black marble with the Washington Monument looming in the background, and the tranquility of the Tidal Basin, I couldn't help but meditate. This truly was the perfect spot to commemorate Dr. King's legacy and take a moment of silence.

I can't wait to develop the film photos. Once I get the film photos developed, I want to write a special poem.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I'm happy to see that you had the opportunity to visit the King Memorial. It is a beautiful spot conducive to meditation. I appreciated the chance to read some of his Dr. King's quotes. He was a wise visionary with a positive message that urged people of all races, colors and creeds to unite in peace. I wish more of today's leaders would follow the example of Martin Luther King Jr.

    Thank you, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi Shady,

Dr. King has always been my favorite person. His kindness and compassion have always spoken to me. I agree, dear friend, I wish more leaders followed Dr. King's example instead of someone like Malcolm X's example.
