Thankful Thursday 7/13/2017

It's hard to believe it's Thursday again! The weeks seem like they are flying by and it seems like that makes the year go quicker as well! I can't believe we only have 5.5 months left of 2017.

It's Thankful Thursday again and I feel like I have a lot to be thankful for. Tomorrow I will post an entry about our Elmwood Park Zoo trip, but I want to say I am thankful that the zoo had a free weekend for King of Prussia residents. They do this every year and it's nice that a zoo will do that. I am thankful for the Elmwood Park Zoo and what they do for the communities around us. I also love the animals they have.

I'm also thankful for friends and their encouragement. Many responded to the e-mail I sent around about Atlantic City and they said my writing is beautiful. It is inspiring me to write a poem for a contest and maybe submit an article or two. I am thankful for everyone who encourages me. Even Gregg Whiteside, my favorite DJ from WRTI, replied back. I know, maybe I was weird for sending him an e-mail... but it made me feel good.

Jessica, you are quite a writer! Though I'm in Cape May I feel like I've been to Atlantic City too!
Wonderful travelogue, and photos. Thank you for sharing the experience with me!
Gregg

What are you thankful for?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I love to get close to giraffes. Mrs. Shady and I had a close encounter with the leggy creatures at the Naples (Florida) Zoo. A vendor stationed at the giraffe enclosure sells Chinese lettuce leaves to feed to the animals. We bought a bunch and fed them to the giraffes. The challenge was to make sure all of the giraffes got some food because, if you don't keep track, the same dominant one can hog most of it.

I look forward to seeing your pictures of Elmwood Park Zoo, dear friend JM. Happy Thankful Thursday!

    1. Hi Shady!

That was the challenge for all of us as well. It was funny watching the kids try feeding the giraffes.
