Yesterday I was inducted into the Sousalarm Club on WRTI! The march selected was performed by the Detroit Symphony Orchestra and was Sousa’s tribute to the 100th anniversary of the Revolutionary War.
Gregg’s induction was, “Today I am inducting Jessica [last name], I’m pronouncing it the French way instead of the Italian way, I hope I’m pronouncing it correctly! Of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Jessica e-mailed me that she started listening to classical music in middle school when she was volunteering for the school library. One day she had the task of cleaning out old cassettes and replacing the cassettes with CDs. She was allowed to take the cassettes and one of the cassettes was Sousa. She’s been a fan ever since and she loves listening to the Sousalarm.”
Gregg also added, “I love her e-mail address, which I won’t repeat on air, but it really grabbed my attention. Jessica, welcome to the Sousalarm Club; your certificate is in the mail.” I was smiling the whole time. I’m really happy and can’t wait to get my certificate in the mail.
My happy face after being inducted.
Also, my request of David Bowie narrating Peter and the Wolf was played at lunch on WRTI. I love David Bowie’s dramatics and it was great to hear on my walk. J
My happy face on my walk.
What are you thankful for today?
