Making bread earlier in the day for the teddy bear picnic. July 10, 2011. Here is the picture entry from that day. Teddy Bear Picnic
The rain patters on the windowsill. It's a heavy rain, but I suppose that is normal when it's a humid July day. The rain was soothing, however.
Nan had the curtains drawn - she was afraid of thunder and lightning; I'm surprised we weren't huddled in the basement. Instead, we sat on the couch with candles lit. We lost power; TV watching was not an option.
Sasha Snowflakes was cuddled in the crook of Nan's arms, right next to Wesley Bear. July 10 was International Teddy Bear Picnic Day, I had celebrated earlier in the day and brought the festivities to Nan's house - the bears felt so welcomed, just like any person who entered.
Both Wesley and Sasha were excited to continue their picnic on Nan's kitchen table. They were munching on beer bread when the lights flicked off. Both were excited to finish their meal by candlelight while telling ghost stories.
After a few hours of telling ghost stories, both were exhausted. They gathered in Nan's arms - the three of them frightened by lightning; they all soothed each other and fell asleep on the couch peacefully.
