Mother's Day 2017

Yesterday we decided to treat mom to Fogo de Chao. A few months ago a restaurant opened in King of Prussia and it was such a big deal for all of the residents because it meant that no one had to travel to Philadelphia to eat at this Brazilian Steakhouse.

I only ate at Fogo de Chao once. Four years ago, for Father's Day. It's when I still ate pork products and I thought it was very good. Even the beef was very good and the experience in Philadelphia was unique.

I will admit with my kosher diet that I was hesitant about eating at the new Fogo de Chao. A couple of months ago, mom and dad went while I was in New York City and thought it'd be a good Mother's Day Treat. Dad said their lamb was the best; he eased my mind by reassuring me there was meat there I could eat.

He wasn't kidding! The lamb, beef, and chicken were to die for! I had a couple helpings of lamb; the way it was cooked was just too good. I also loved the salad bar - I had a Caesar salad, papaya, pineapple, chickpeas, and smoked salmon (lox). We were all very please.

The weather was also perfect! The experience in King of Prussia was similar to the one in Philadelphia that we had in 2013, but the inside was much lighter. It was still lively and crowded, but it seemed more intimate. The family next to us was celebrating a birthday because they were singing "happy birthday" in Portuguese (I can understand a bit of Portuguese and Spanish), which I thought was very cool.

We left with full stomachs and went home to relax. I'm looking forward to seeing what we do for dad for Father's Day!

    Wow, that was quite a Mother's Day feast at the new Fogo de Chao location in K.O.P. and I'm sure your mom enjoyed and appreciated it. You could make a living as a food critic. I'm not much of a meat eater but those meats they served look tantalizing and you had my mouth watering at the description of the salad you put together. From the happy looks on faces a great time was had by all.

      I've thought about becoming a food critic - maybe I will when I move to Toronto. :)

      We really did and if you have a Fogo or Chima where you live, I'd definitely recommend both.
