Aunt Millie's Going Away Party | March 2006

Today Aunt Millie would have been 101 years old.  She lived until February 2009 and lived in King of Prussia until 2006. In March 2006, she moved to Denver to be with her daughter. In March 2006 we decided to have a little going away party for her. It was a sad occasion - she didn't want to move to Denver, she wanted to stay in King of Prussia. However, Nan and I were helping to care for Aunt Kelly and couldn't manage Aunt Millie as well. Aunt Millie kept saying, "this is not a good bye! I will be visiting!" She died three years later after an accident.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Thank you for another bittersweet post remembering and honoring a lost loved one, Aunt Millie, on what would have been her birthday as a centenarian. I'm very sorry to learn that she died as the result of an accident. If that hadn't happened to her, she might still be alive today to celebrate her 101st birthday.

Have a safe and happy week ahead, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi, Shady!

I want to say she fell and hit her head on the corner of the wall. Her death occurred the same week of the actress Natasha Richardson's death and they were similar (except my great aunt wasn't skiing). It was sad.

Nan's last living brother, her baby brother, just died at the end of January 2017. It's sad that Nan and her siblings are now gone. :(

Have a great week ahead, dear friend!
