Poetry Workshop at the Philadelphia Museum of Art | March 31, 2017

On Friday night, the Philadelphia Museum of Art had a poetry workshop as part of last Friday. Here are two poems I wrote.

Just when I was about to give up,
Opportunities knock: a new thought:
Hope in reach, just remain calm;
Never give up, you worked so hard-
Success is on the horizon!

Blessed friends have helped,
Let your strength guide you:
Unique gifts, you'll be welcomed,
Embraced by friends and a new life.

The second one was written from an image I remembered from a concert I attended last month:

Evil stares at me from the blackness,
the flame dances against bones.
Flames fill the hollow sockets,
as Myrrh surrounds and chanting echoes in the distance.

I also added these two to my portfolio. I'm thinking of submitting Self-Portrait of Jessica Marie to a contest.

Of course, the Philadelphia Museum of Art paid homage to Duchamps for April Fool's Day:

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Oooh, I really like that second poem - such interesting word selection and dark imagery. Seems your poem could be made into a death metal song, don't you think?

Have a great day, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi, Shady!

Yes! I actually wrote the poem about the Mayhem concert; it could totally be a heavy metal song!

Have a great day, dear friend!
