Philadelphia Flower Show 2017

Today mom and I trekked to the annual flower show that is held by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS). The theme the PHS chose was Holland; mom and I thought that would be neat to see and mom booked the tickets last month.

We took the Paoli/Thorndale train line into the city and when we arrived at Jefferson Station, we saw the terminal was decorated for the flower show. The convention center is directly above the train station.

Our tickets didn't give us a time to enter; we arrived at 10am and they scanned us in. However, since we weren't members, we should have entered at 11 am. Because they didn't notice the error, they let us go to the members' previews. I'm glad we did; by the time we were done, it was very crowded.

We saw the butterflies first:

Today was just amazing. I'm tired from all of the walking, but mom and I had a lot of fun.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I'd love to visit Holland someday... wooden shoe? :)

How lucky you were to get the jump on spring and go to that lavish flower and butterfly exhibition! Those hanging arrangements are magnificent, and how cool that a butterfly landed in your hair. The butterflies must know you love and care for them. :)

Thanks for the array of spectacular pictures, dear friend JM. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

    1. Hi, Shady,

Me too! Holland is on my bucket list and the Philadelphia Flower Show reminded me why, wooden shoe and all. :D

It made up for the winter that came back! Tomorrow we're supposedly getting a Nor'Easter! Take me back to those butterflies! I think you're right.

I hope you had a good weekend, dear friend.

  2. Although this place is probably not cheap, but they are centrally located, have fabulous staff and delicious food, and most importantly, the best views of the city. I would definitely recommend the LA event venues for any kind of fancy event – all my friends talked about throwing parties here only.
