Thankful Thursday 1/5/2017

Happy first Thursday in 2017! What are some of your goals for gratitude this year? Me? I plan on working on a happiness box and being thankful each day.

Today I am thankful for the baseball cards my one temporary co-worker from the office gave me. He gave me a bunch of Blue Jays and Maple Leafs cards. It was a pleasant surprise. :)

On New Year's Day, we had an open house with mom's family. It was a really nice time and it was nice seeing one of mom's cousins along with her children. The one turned 14 yesterday and I remember the day he was born! I was 13.5. Last year was the first time seeing him in 10 years. Last year was the first time meeting her two other children. We all had a lot of fun and I'm thankful for that.

Mom made her all beef meatballs!

Can't forget Chick Fil-A. :)

Aunt Kathy and me.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

Those baseball and hockey trading cards were very thoughtful gifts for you in particular since you are planning a move to Toronto. By the time you get there you can be familiar with all of the Jays and Leafs players. For a brief time during boyhood I collected baseball cards. I recently came upon them as I was looking through a carton of my old stuff. Now I'm wondering how valuable they are after all these years.

Over the holidays I too was reunited with a family member I haven't see in years. We had a nice visit.

Happy Thankful Thursday to you, dear friend Jessica!

    1. Hi, Shady!

Yes! And yesterday he gave me some more Jays cards. If he comes across more, he will give them to me. I feel truly grateful.

You should get your old cards appraised! I'd be curious to know as well. Dad has all of his marbles from the 1960s and I would love to know their value. :)

      Happy Thankful Friday, dear friend!

  2. I like the picture of you and Aunt Kathy; it's lovely. :)

    The meatball looks tasty!

    1. Thank you!

They were! All beef too, yum!
