First Day in Asbury Park 7/22/2016

After I ate lunch at a food truck on the boardwalk, I had to go back to the Tides Hotel to drop off my things since there were no lockers on the boardwalk. I packed an old point and shoot camera, however, I didn't realize I left it back in the room once I got back onto the beach (the hotel was a five-minute walk). Fortunately, I had mom's film camera and took pictures of my first day on the beach with the film camera. I just love film, even if it's in colour.

I had to get a picture of my hotel before heading back to the beach.

They ran... they ran so far away...
...loved seeing this flock of seagulls. :)

My coworkers from both jobs wanted to see a picture of me in my new bathing suit. I had to get one.

This one didn't run from me!

Catching some waves.

After the waves rolled in...

I had a fun first day on the beach. I spent about three hours catching waves, playing in the sand, and enjoying time in the sun. I didn't want to use up the film, so I conserved it for the next day.

On the 23rd, I mostly took pictures of Silverball Arcade. I had such a great time playing in the arcade and thought the film pictures would be retro as well.

Back on the beach. My walk back to my towel after hanging out with Adam and friends for a few hours.

Here are the pictures from my last morning on the beach, before I headed home.

Handsome Greyhound someone was walking.

I'm shocked this one developed. Happy, though!

I'm actually glad these photos developed. Mom was cleaning out the drawer and found her old film camera. There was an unused roll of film in the camera and the film was from 1999 or 2000.

I had such a great time at Asbury Park and I'm glad I captured my first time visiting this town in New Jersey with both digital and film cameras.

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I remember you going to Asbury Park last summer and I also remember telling you that I visited the famous beach town one time in my life when I was age 15. You collected some excellent pictures of the beach and the wildlife. I appreciated your cool caption referencing an English New Wave 80s synthpop band and their hit song:

They ran... they ran so far away...
...loved seeing this flock of seagulls. :)

The pictures of the sun shining on the ocean turned out especially well. The ones taken inside the arcade are great, too, like traveling back in time.

Thanks for recapping your adventure in Asbury Park, dear friend Jessica Marie. Enjoy the rest of your week and happy new year to you, my A+ fun friend!

    1. Hi Shady!

That is one of my favorite songs, that's why I had to use it. :D I also love seagulls, even if they are scavengers. :)

Thank you, dear friend! I am glad you enjoyed my pictures and my adventures. I'm still working on a journal of all my adventures from this year. I'm thinking one day I might publish them.
