Thankful Thursday 11/10/2016

Despite the horrible outcome of the election, I am glad there was no violence and people are starting to come together, peacefully. I am thankful that people will be putting aside their differences and will be building bridges. We need to put aside our differences to come together. Thankful for all the nice people in the world.

With that said, I've been attempting to move to Canada for the past six months. I started the process three months ago and I started the permanent residency application. I had to join a job bank. I don't want to move because of this election; I would move even if Clinton won. I loved Canada and I have many opportunities there. I have also always wanted to move abroad and think Canada would be a great start. I was anxious about the results because I was terrified of Trump ruining my chances of finding work in Canada to speed up my application. I can't move until I have an invite from the province. While I meet the minimum and still will be considered, having a job is worth 600 points and would obviously speed up the process. I'm thankful for friends that keep reminding me that I should not worry, a Trump win will not effect my chances. They keep reminding me I have talents and I should sell them without fear. I have to keep moving forward, as we all have to keep moving forward with dignity and grace.

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

These are uncertain times for our country, but we need to have faith that this could somehow work out. We need to remember what Hillary and President Obama urged us to do yesterday and that is to continue to take the high road and give Mr. Trump a fair chance to lead. If Hillary had won the election we wouldn't appreciate violent protests by Trump supporters, so we need to keep calm and move forward and give peace (and Trump) a chance.

If Canada is your dream I hope it comes true. You have many talents and any country would be lucky to have you as a citizen.

    Thank you, dear Jessica Marie!

    1. Hi Shady!

Yep, we must give Trump a chance. Not only for America, but the world because his presidency will affect every global citizen.

Thanks, Shady. So far it's been an anxiety inducing process, but I am hopeful!
