Thankful Thursday 10/6/2016

Welcome to the first Thursday in October! Today is dad's birthday and I am thankful for him. He's done a lot for me over the years and I am grateful for all that he has done for me.

Dad last year during his birthday party.

Happy birthday, dad!

I'm also thankful that the library has celebrations for every cultural holiday. On October 26, the library is holding a Diwali celebration. I will be helping with the crafts. I am thankful they asked me and I can help out! I'm super excited!

What are you thankful for?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

    Happy birthday to your father!

I can imagine how much fun it is for you to work at the library and help with the ongoing series of cultural exhibits.

I am thankful to have a friend like you who enjoys hip hop, rap and metal. I appreciated your comment on this week's post and humbly ask for your support again on my next post coming up on Monday. It will feature modern metal bands including one of your favorites - Kittie. Please try to make it over next Monday. Thank you!

I also ask that you keep our friend Janie Junebug in your prayers. The hurricane will most likely be striking her part of Florida early tomorrow. I am on the Gulf coast and, if the current forecast holds up, our area won't get hit very hard. For that I am thankful!

Enjoy the rest of your week, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi Shady!

Thank you! Dad says thank you too! :)

Yes! I love my library work and all of the cultural things they have. I'm thankful for that.

I'm also thankful I have you and Janie as friends. You're all in my thoughts and prayers during the storm. I'm hoping Hurricane Matthew isn't as bad as the news claims.

      You too, dear friend!

  2. Happy birthday to your dad! He's a handsome man with a beautiful daughter. I'm thankful that as Hurricane Matthew approaches our area we are safe in my little house with plenty of food, water, candles, and flashlights in case of an emergency. We aren't in the evacuation area, but it should be quite a storm. I think our biggest challenge will be getting the dogs to go out. They might have to cross their legs and hold it.

    1. Hi Janie,

Thank you and dad thanks you as well. He has had a good birthday. :)

You're all in my thoughts and prayers. Here's hoping it's not as bad as they say, but if it is, that no one is hurt. I bet it's a scary time - I remember when Hurricane Sandy hit here four years ago and it was harrowing. Stay safe!
