Thankful Thursday 9/29/2016

First off, I want to wish my aunt a very happy birthday! Hope the day is enjoyed.  :) I'm thankful that she is my awesome aunt and I can have chats with her. I'm thankful for everything she has done throughout my life.

I have a lot to be thankful for today. On Tuesday my dad took the day off and he took me to the train station. Before he dropped me off at the train station, we stopped off at Starbucks. Usually on week day mornings I don't have Starbucks since I take Lyft to the train station (I usually go to Starbucks on Monday and Friday afternoons when I don't have to work both jobs). I'm thankful dad took me.

That morning one of my coworkers also gave me a lavender cupcake she made by hand. It was delicious and we are going to exchange lavender recipes. I told her about the lavender cookies I make. I'm thankful she thought of me.

On Sunday after the race, I stopped off at this grocery store. It sells halal food and it's owned by a Turkish family. I hadn't been in the store since January and wanted to stop in to see if I could buy Arabic coffee. Instead of Arabic coffee, I bought Turkish coffee and the cup to brew it in. The cashier was so happy to see me again and we were talking. I told him about the cat cafe I just visited and was going to visit the cats on Friday. He exclaimed, "Oh, I have a cat! His name is Or-ay-o! Would you like to see him?" He led me to the back and put Oreo into my arms. I was holding and playing with Oreo for a good 10 minutes. Very friendly cat and reminds me of Nan's old neighbor's cat, Gabby. I wish I had the cashier take pictures, but I was lost in the moment. I'm thankful the owner let me meet Oreo. Maybe I'll stop by on Friday. :)

What are you thankful for today?

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

    Happy birthday to your aunt!

There is a coffee roasting shop here in town I am thankful that Mrs. Shady went there yesterday and picked up 5 bags of whole beans, a mix of coffees from places like Honduras, Costa Rica and New Guinea. We love their coffee! We also have a Korean food store near us where she shops for stuff to make exotic dinners.

I am also thankful that October is upon us, the month when the summer heat begins to lose its grip on Florida and cool fronts begin to make it through.

In recent years I have come to love cats. Mrs. Shady's sister has one and he loves to lie on my chest and have me pet and scratch him while I watch TV.

Have a happy Thankful Thursday, dear friend JM!

    1. Hi Shady,

      Thank you!

Ohhh, that coffee sounds amazing. I do love my coffee, especially imported coffee. The stronger, the better. :)

Have a great weekend, dear friend!

  2. I'm thankful that you've had so many good experiences. My daughter went to a Cat Cafe in San Francisco. She also went to a Bunny Cafe. The Cat Cafe led to the adoption of two cats.

    Love,
    Janie

    1. Hi Janie,

I visited the cats yesterday. I wish I could adopt, but Miss Mimi is now an only cat type of cat. :( It was so much fun, though!

      Love,
      Jessica
