Visiting the Washington Monument

The first site I visited when I arrived in Washington, D.C. was the Washington Monument. Sadly, one has to be at the ticket booth at 6 AM to get a free ticket to gain access (tickets weren't available at 10:30 AM when I arrived) to go to the top. I could walk by the Washington Monument, though, and I took advantage of sightseeing near the Washington Monument.

My attempts of selfies in front of the Washington Monument.

Kite runners!

When I was sightseeing, I saw protesters marching. These protesters were veterans and they were protesting how veterans are treated:

Before I walked over to the World War II Memorial, I saw this shady spot and took a rest. I loved the way the trees grew and how comfortable the shady spot was!

Tried to get a selfie with the bird, but it flew away. :(

  1. Veterans are mistreated. We never went up in the Washington Monument. The lines were always horrible.
