Barenaked Ladies with OMD and Howard Jones | Live at the Mann Center For Performing Arts 6/18/2016

Last night mom and I trekked to the Mann Center for Performing Arts in Philadelphia to see Barenaked Ladies, OMD, and Howard Jones. It was such a beautiful night for a concert - the blowing wind, perfect temperature, though we did sweat in our seats. The performers had us dancing and jumping; it was such a great time. I ran out of data on my phone for the billing cycle (new cycle starts tomorrow) - I will post videos tomorrow when the new cycle starts. Enjoy the pictures! :)

What a fun concert.I bought Howard Jones's CD from the 1980s... I figured it'd be a great way to move throughout the day. I'll be purchasing OMD on iTunes. Enjoyed my time last night. :)

  1. Hi, Jessica Marie!

I remember all three of these acts. The MTV station where I worked in the 80s played the new wave/synthpop videos made by Howard Jones and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark. I best remember OMD for their hit "If You Leave" from the soundtrack of the movie Pretty in Pink.

Happy Father's Day to you and your dad!

    1. Hi Shady,

I was familiar with "If You Leave" and "Enola Gay," but never knew OMD performed them! Same thing with Howard Jones. Back in middle and high schools, I just listened to music and based it on how it sounded. Sometimes Limewire also got artists and titles wrong too. The fun days. :) Barenaked Ladies was my first CD ever - was gifted the CD on my 9th birthday in 1998.

Thank you! I hope you enjoy your Father's Day! Happy Father's Day, dear friend!

  2. I know nothing about Howard Jones and OMD, but I like Barenaked Ladies. They seem so nice, but of course they're Canadians, eh?

    Love,
    Janie
