Happiness Jar 2016

I saw this idea last year, but I saw it too late last year that I didn't partake in the project. I always thought it seemed like a good idea and last month I saw a board on Pinterest instructing how to make a Happiness Jar. Here is one pin from Pinterest:

However, I am adding to it:
* Add pictures of what made you happy or inspire good memories that day (if pictures better describe the mood)
* Add a flash drive (or flash drives) if there is a song that made you happy or bring good memories of that day.
* Make your own rules, as it is your personal project.

The goal is to see all the good things that happened during the year, instead of focusing on all of the bad things. I think it's a beautiful idea.

I have a step by step guide of how to make a happiness jar. Of course, you can decorate a jar anyway you want. Here is how I did mine:

I had fun shopping at Michael's Crafts for stickers and mason jar supplies.

What I settled on.

Though, I quickly saw the roses didn't work... so I used the peacock stickers Nan bought me for our last holiday together. This jar is from Nan too.

The tag I bought.

8 days in. Looking good so far. I hope the jar is big enough for what I have to write/picture this year!

Have fun!

  1. My favorite part is "make your own rules."

    1. Mine too! My entry for today is a postcard that my pen pal from India sent me. It's so beautiful!

  2. This is a great idea, Jessica Marie! It allows you to literally count your blessings at the end of the year. I would make sure to put something with a pleasant scent into the container as well, because a sweet aroma enhances your mood.

Have a great weekend, dear friend JM!
