The Secret Life of Blogger's Blog Party (8/10/2015-8/15/2015)

Monday, August 10

Tuesday, August 11

Everyone in the Senior Center office wore black today! I couldn't get one of everyone.
It was funny - members asked if we sent around a memo. We all had black and white on!

Caterpillars are now outside and huge!

Library's edible books contest (children's department)!

I really liked this movie and I would recommend it! Straight Outta Compton review.

Grady's birthday gift.

One of the guests looking at his prize. My prize was awesome: notebooks!

Some of the younger guests playing.

Grady and his cake.

This one looks like it's going to make a chrysalis!

I think this one didn't make it. It's trailing green. Butterfly experts, what does this mean?!

Hope everyone had a great week and the next week is just as great! ~Jessica

    1. All but two left... I guess they went elsewhere to form their chrysalises. :( I will have to get a picture of the one that made the chrysalis.

  2. Hi, Jessica Marie! It's nice to see your week in review. Is that your kitty? Pretty eyes! Black is the new black and you look great dressed in it. What a coincidence that everyone in the office showed up wearing black the same day. I read your separate post about attending Straight Outta Compton. It was quite brave of you to go to the theater alone given the threat of violence. Shucks, these days you can't even feel safe going to an animated Disney feature! I don't know if I told you this before but my dad was a shutterbug. Nature and wildlife were his favorite subjects and he snapped many close-ups of insects, birds, leaves, tree fungus, toadstools, etc.

Thank you for visiting SDMM this morning, dear friend Jessica Marie. I appreciated your comment! (Now following you on Bloglovin.)

    1. Hi Shady and good morning! Hope the weather is treating you nicely (it's hot and humid here)!

Yes, that's our Miss Mimi. We used to have two cats - Mimi and a tuxedo cat named Olivia, but sadly Olivia passed away in 2012 (we adopted them together, but Mimi was 3 and Olivia was 14. We adopted them both from the Kitty Cottage in 2008). She loves being pampered, loves men, and knows she's a beauty. She can really flaunt it. :D

I've always loved black. Although I am pale, I always loved the way it looked on me. In middle school and part of high school I went through a goth phase. Still love black, but I try to add colours to it. :)

It was a REALLY good movie and I'd recommend it. Though, probably on DVD. I spent $18 on the pre-order. I'm not sure if it was because it was pre-ordered or if that is how much a ticket costs nowadays, but I was shocked. I was also by myself this weekend and wanted to get out of the house a bit. It was a nice evening out and I made it home (walked) before dark. :)

You're welcome, Shady! I love your blog because I love discovering music I'm not familiar with and some of it I am familiar with. I'm going to be working on a poem after work, I think you'll appreciate the subject - it's about wandering the city looking for a CD. Yep, I did that yesterday!

    2. Here's the "secret to Shady." The way to my heart (and lasting friendship) is through quality communication. I admire friends who take a little extra time to read my posts (long as they might be) and write intelligent comments. I also very much appreciate the lengthy reply you wrote for me here. It demonstrates a high level of interest in nurturing our friendship. You'd be surprised how many people "let weeds grow in their gardens," meaning they don't take care of a growing friendship. I tend to withdraw from people who gloss over the material I present on my blog, people who are obviously in a rush and leave brief, generic comments that do not address the topic. Twitter tweet comments are insulting, aren't they? I think you'll agree that I never "phone it in." I put a considerable amount of time and thought into my comments and it shows. Friends make time for friends and I always make time for people who make time for me. Thank you very much for showing genuine interest in me and in my blog, dear friend Jessica Marie!

    3. That's how I am as well. Twitter comments ANNOY me... Twitter overall annoys me because 140 characters is so limiting. I know if I receive an insensitive comment here or something that took no effort, I don't even respond. To me, I learned it wasn't worth the aggravation. I've had some rude commenters on here.

I love your blog and I love the music you post! I love learning as I read blogs and I definitely learn from your blog!
