My 26th Birthday (July 4, 2015)

Today I turned 26. Today America turned 239. Today was a very low key day since I am still exhausted from New York City yesterday. I'll be updating about it tomorrow (brace yourselves, it's gonna be a long one... with tons of pictures!), but it was an amazing time. I actually really liked Brooklyn... at least I liked the beach area by the Brooklyn Bridge (night time might be a different story), but I can say I liked downtown NYC in general. I also found people from New York City to be really friendly. They were really nice. I can't wait to update y'all about the trip. However, let me post my album as a teaser: New York City 2015.

Like I said, the day has been low key for me. After walking 7.7 miles, 23,000 steps yesterday, being up for 23 hours and only getting 4-5 hours of sleep, yeah, I'm tired. I took a walk this morning before it rained. My parents gave me this card and chocolate rose:

This was in addition to the early birthday gift I received,if you remember from Thankful Thursday. Dad's co-worker came over for dinner and we had cake. I'm dog sitting now for my aunt and it looks like it's raining again. I'm not sure if dad will light fireworks later. Just a really great 26th birthday.

Oh, I received an awesome card from Andrew:
Thank you, Andrew! I love it!

And last week one of my friends sent me one of her creations. I love Baymax and I love this. :) I feel really thankful about everything. :)

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

  1. Happy birthday and happy 4th, dear Jessica Marie! I'm so happy to know you are having a great time in New York and encountering friendly people there. Enjoy enjoy enjoy!

    1. Thank you and thank you! I hope you had a great 4th!

I actually came home from New York City last night. It was only a day trip. I couldn't afford to stay overnight and since I was alone, I was a bit leery about staying over. The day was beautiful yesterday and I want to go back!

I'm back home in the suburbs of Philadelphia now. I celebrated here in the suburbs with my mom, dad, and dad's coworker. It was nice. :) I hope you enjoyed your day.

  2. Congratulations, congratulations!

I think I've primarily been in Manhattan, and that international space of the UN, when I went to NYC.
I've found the people extremely helpful in giving directions.

I'd like to hear your commentary about those photographs eventually!

Sleep well :) I'm exhausted, too, from trying to figure out what on Earth Mikhail wanted. The times are not exotic, but I was a little groggy from the night before.

I'm glad you reminded me to double-check library hours! I thought it was noon.

  3. Oops, left before it finished verifying the comment. Let me try and remember what I was trying to say.

Let's both get more sleep and get back in touch later.

    1. I just returned home from Turkey Hill. We made ice cream.I'm going to log off and hand write my NYC entry since I didn't get a chance to last night with company and I watched Daphne.

I really want to go to the UN. It would be neat if officials from Dubai were there for that day. I wonder if you'd be allowed to communicate with them, though. Before Friday, I was only in Manhattan. I'm glad that changed on Friday. I love downtown. :)

I think you're right. I have some letters to write as well. Sleep sounds awesome... maybe I'll lay down for a bit.

  4. The card from your parents looks pretty cool, too, as does the chocolate rose. Glad you had a good birthday. :)

    1. It has been a good birthday weekend! I'm going to write my NYC entry tonight and tomorrow I'll write about the ice cream factory tour we went on today in York, PA.
