UMSSC Mad Hatter Tea Party in Photos

Today was awesome! The women I sat with were a fun bunch. We had great conversations and laughs. I also participated in the hat contest, but didn't win. That's okay, though. It was still fun and I was glad people did love my hat. They also loved my lavender cookies. It was a great day! :)

  1. I'm glad you had such a nice time ^_^ the harps sound beautiful! But that's almost a given. The voices are a nice addition in the second and third snippets!

It looks like one of my holds might come in today after I come to pick them all up - Robert Caro's The Power Broker. I guess I'll get it next week since I have a couple of other things to keep me occupied in the meantime such as Dostoevsky's Possessed. (Though people argue about the English translation of that title and some like to call it Demons. ...it's that one: Бесы. I find it intriguing.)

    1. Yeah, I've always loved harps. It didn't look too complicated to play either. BUT, that might be something that is deceiving, HAHA. Do you know these two musicians? www.brandywineharps.com

I went to the library today, but didn't check anything out. I was on borrowed time. I did see a book I do want to go back and get. It's called "Tripping With Allah." :D

    2. They probably know me or one of my family. The name Ann Bogda sounds familiar, but I am scared to say anything since it might be someone else and I do have a brain problem so I can't say for sure x_x

I did too :D I got eight things today! To be lazy: The water knife / Paolo Bacigalupi, Everything I never told you / Celeste Ng, All our names / Dinaw Mengestu, The blazing world : a novel / Siri Hustvedt, A rogue by any other name / Sarah MacLean (which I quickly read and mean to return next week since I didn't expect chick lit to be that shallow), All the birds, singing / Evie Wyld, The triple agent : the al-Qaeda mole who infiltrated the CIA / Joby Warrick, and The use and abuse of literature / Marjorie Garber. ♥

    3. I have to write down names to see if Aunt Peg knows any of these ladies. She probably does!

    4. Maybe! The world of music is not as big as that of some of the other art forms, I have noticed.
