Thankful Thursday 6/18/2015

On Monday, I checked out a book called Thanks!, a book about the science of gratitude. It's an interesting book so far. I am usually not a big psychology/psych science reader, but it's amazing to see the science behind how being grateful can help a person. I can't wait to finish reading it and when I do, I will post a review - maybe on Thankful Thursday!

There is one part of the book where it talks about teaching children gratitude because children start out as very ungrateful and it's up to parents and caretakers to show children how to be more grateful and thankful. As I was reading that, I am thankful for the childhood I had and all the experiences I have had during that time. I think some of those experiences shaped who I am today.

I also want to wish my Muslim readers, a very happy Ramadan!
رماصان كريم!

  1. The guy I was with yesterday and I are active in the neuro-psych field. I'd be interested to see what you found in that book! That is one of the books I pick up in the nearish future - possibly not tomorrow morning, but shortly. I've been buried lately in Dostoevsky! ♥ Some places call it Demons but Constance Garnett translated it as The Possessed. The Russian (Бесы) can be translated either way, though I have to be careful about saying that, since some people get cranky and yell at me if they disagree.

I hope all is well with everyone! ^_^

    2. Thank you!

Today I slept more soundly than I had in months. (Just woke up from a huge nap!)
