Beautiful June Sunset

With the Summer Solstice eleven days away, it has been getting darker later. Although I am a fan of winter and it getting dark earlier, I enjoy taking later walks and the sunsets at 8:30 PM are just gorgeous.

Saturday was one of those sunsets. As I was laying on the couch, resting from my day out in Philadelphia, mom called me outside to look at the beautiful sky. A few hours earlier we had downpours, but now those downpours were done. They left the clouds pink and the skies a combination of pinks, purples, and dark blues. It was just breathtaking.

Sunrises and sunsets have always made me feel at peace.

And last night it poured. I fell asleep to the sound of heavy rains hitting the roof and windows. I find that relaxing and the rain always helps me fall asleep. What is it about rain/water that helps people relax? Then again, I've always loved the sky and water.

  1. This is Kupala Day in Russia and Jashn-e Tiregân in Iran! China the only major thing might be end of spring term...

I had been frightened by the thunder thanks to playing too much Beethoven so I couldn't sleep, but some friends have been helping me through that.

  3. With regards to this post's first paragraph, we've lost about an hour of evening daylight since mid-June. It now becomes dark at around 8:00-9:00 here for the time being.

    1. Yep, it gets darker around 8:15 here now. I guess until December 21, we'll be losing a minute each day. I personally love when it gets dark at 4:30!
