The Secret Life of Blogger's Blog Party (5/4/2015-5/9/2015)

Tuesday, May 5
I had breakfast at Pauline's Deli in Norristown, PA before hopping on the High Speed Line for work.

I love Moe's good morning texts most of the time. He sent this before I started work and I had a big smile on my face. He then sent silly pictures he took several years ago.

Picture I took of my boss's husband trying out the new scooters we ordered. Going in the June Newsletter.

Wednesday, May 6

Orchid drink.

Lobster and potatoes. We went to Bonefish Grill. The new Bonefish Grill is AMAZING.

Thursday, May 7

More of the Lily of the Valleys popped open!

Friday, May 8

Before I met Dave, went to South Street. I love going to South Street.

Met Dave for a ball game. I don't like either the Phillies or the Mets, but he invited me since he's a HUGE Mets fan (his treat) and traveled from Staten Island. I hadn't seen him in two years; since he traveled here to see the Brewers with me on May 31, 2013. It was nice catching up. The Mets lost, but it was just nice catching up with him, talking to the Mets fans I was sitting next to that were from where Dave is from, and meeting other people at the stadium from New York. It was nice to get out.

Heading home.

Happy #Caturday!

Yep, the ice cream man came around at 8:30 tonight. I thought it was a bit late, but I was happy nonetheless. I love Popsicle and candy cigarettes!

This was sooo good! Scribbler Popsicle.

Something this morning made me happy. As y'all know, I've been a member of for 9 years. Last year I participated in a member's Wodehouse Challenge a lot and always had fun. Last week I decided to get involved with the current two week challenge since I hadn't signed up for anything this year yet. My category was movies, specifically silent films.I had to research some films, performers, and write a tabloid piece. My folder: Galahad Threepwood's House of Movies.

I had a lot of fun writing and researching these pieces, but I wasn't expecting the responses I received from Kiya, the member who runs the challenge (I finished the challenge today - 5 days shy of the end - I received my merit badge too):

Whooohoooo! *applauds*
Excellent job with the challenge!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading all your responses to the questions and it looks like you did you research. {e;bigsmile}
Never knew about that female director Alice Guy-Blache *Shock* from way back in the Silent Era (and let's not forget about Mabel Normand)
See how such important people get lost with time? So sad that the new generation will never get to know all these greats. *Frown*
Your article about the name change was interesting! I had no clue that was Ellen Mirren's real name! Hah! Explains a lot *lol*

Thanks for doing the challenge and doing a great job while at it! Your well-earned Movie Merit Badge is on its way! Huzzah! *Bigsmile*

You've received a new Merit Badge!

Day made. :) I guess it goes to show that when you stress about things, things don't always turn out well. I know I stress out about paid contests and never win. I loved doing this challenge and despite having two jobs and working on a poetry book, I wasn't stressed about this and it turned out very well. I should remember that.

The week started out a bit sad, but the week is ending great. I can't wait to see what next week brings. Stay tuned for next week's Blog Party!

  1. Congrats on the Wodehouse Challenge!

Very nicely written blog, thanks for the pictures of the Phillies.

    1. Thank you! It was a nice surprise - I like nice comments. :) In the past year, I've been feeling depressed about my writing. I used to have some friends who told me my writing sucked and would never make it in the business. For this challenge, I put the stress of sounding perfect aside and it turned out well. I might adopt that feeling for paid contests. Slowly getting back to my old self.

Thank you and you're welcome.I wish I brought my bigger camera (but not the professional one). My boss at the center said they changed the rules, so I just brought the small one. Since my friend brought two bags, I think I would have been okay. Still a nice evening out and it was beautiful weather. It was nice to just get out, see a friend I haven't seen in a while, and meet new people.

  2. It looks like you enjoyed some pancakes! ^^ I don't know anything about Norristown except my dad's friend Gerry lives there.

I'm glad your friend Moe is good to you ^_^

Doesn't the sun sun around 8 around here now? That's really, really late for ice cream. ._.

    Congratulations on your Merit Badge!

    Less stress is best.

    1. I'm crushing hard on Moe. Haha. :p It sort of makes me feel weird. How is your Turkish friend?

Yeah, it starts setting around 8 - I think it's totally dark by 8:40, though, and that's why I was really surprised the ice cream man showed up around here that late. He was training someone, so I guess that's why. I don't care, I enjoyed my Popsicles. :)

Thank you! I agree; from here on out, I will be stressing less!

  3. Like Claire, I'm surprised by the ice cream van coming at 8:30pm. I don't recall them ever being that late in California and here in the UK, they're usually around from 1:00-6:00pm. Still, if he was training someone, as you said, that sounds like the reason why. :)
