I just ordered my ticket for the Academy of Natural Sciences's Mega Bad Movie Night on May 21st at 5:30 PM. I took off of work at the library that evening - after I'm done work at the Senior Center, I'll head down to Philadelphia. The movie they are playing is the 1986 remake of "The Fly," which stars Jeff Goldblum.

Mega Bad Movie Night is like Mystery Space Theatre 3000; there are three viewers and they make fun of the movie. The movies are always B movies; they're pretty bad, but funny. I'm really excited to go because the last time I went was on June 27, 2013. Sadly, I only have a few pictures from my phone, which I'll share (I took more - but they went away when I deactivated Facebook)... NEVER MIND, I saved the pictures on my hard drive - I'm glad I didn't delete that camera memory card before I was given this laptop in 2013!

As you can see, it was a fun time. I can't wait to see what the Academy has planned for this evening. Of course, I will take pictures and post them.

  1. That sounds so fun!! I used to love Mystery Science Theater. I wish we had something like that around here. :/ Sadly, this part of NJ is a cultural wasteland.

    1. I'm really excited to go this year. Last year I missed it because I was attempting to move to Detroit (glad that didn't work out - I'd like to move... but not somewhere bankrupt) and I'm sad I missed out on the few they had last year. I loved the original "The Fly" and can't wait to see the Jeff Goldblum version. I also can't wait to hear what kind of wisecracks the critics will have.

Mystery Science Theater is my favorite. Do you get Retro TV? They play it every Saturday from 8-10 pm.
