Thankful Thursday 4/30/2015

Today I am thankful for the seniors I work with - they're really sweet and I like seeing most of them each day. There is one that comes into the office that said he can show me how to use Access. Although I am temp at the center, I am going to take him up on it. The members are just really nice and they make going in enjoyable.

I'm also thankful for my friends such as Andrew, Hanan, and Moe. They've been cheerleaders for me lately and I appreciate it. :)

Today is also the end of NaPoWriMo. Prompt:

And now for our final prompt (still optional!). For the last day of NaPoWriMo, I’d like you to try an odd little exercise that I have had good results with. Today, I challenge you to write a poem backwards. Start with the last line and work your way up the page to the beginning. Another way to go about this might be to take a poem you’ve already written, and flip the order of the lines and from there, edit it so the poem now works with its new order. This will probably feel a bit strange (and really, it is a bit strange), but it just may help you see the formal “opening” and “closing” strategies of your poems in a new way!
Happy writing!

As Far As The Eye Can See

as far as the eye can see.
navy blue waves, a clear sea,
rolling purple hills lead her to hope;
crystal horizons, a parasol and a tight rope—
birds quickly take the sky without lease;
Where there is no violence, only peace,
where she can exalt and pray on her knees.
quiet lakes surrounded by Evergreen trees,
to find something quiet, maybe a place with fishes,
though sometimes she has deep desires and wishes,
or museums, Green Bay Packers, people so sweet.
with Arabic calligraphy, mosques, and white sands,
each night a new adventure of distant lands;
where either happiness or sadness teams,
I love to creep and sneak in her dreams

  1. I'm sure the seniors are thankful for you, too. :)

    Yep! As always, glad that we're friends. Been over four years now! :D
