Tree Decorating Tips and a Book Tree!

Hi y'all!

The countdown is on - 15 days until Christmas! Since there's only two weeks until the big day, today I am going to write about tree decorating tips. I'm also going to post pictures of a book Christmas tree we made at work. I love working for a library. :) Enjoy the tips and happy decorating!

Book Tree

On Friday, Denise (our head reference librarian) ran the idea of having a book Christmas tree set up in the library by Mrs. Davenport. Her and Karen thought it was a cute idea - I think Karen was the one who found the ideas on Pinterest. When I uploaded the one picture on Instagram today, apparently this is the thing for libraries and publishing houses. I think it's a cute idea and I think I want to make one for my room!

Before we put the ornaments on the tree.

They're going to put the lights on the tree tomorrow. I'll be going into work again on Friday (training for my 2nd, work at home job, is tomorrow!) and I'll get some pictures with the lights.

Edit: with lights

Christmas Tree

Whether your family goes to a Christmas tree farm to cut down trees (we'll be doing that again this year!), or you go to a lot to pick out a live tree or an artificial tree is used, here are some pictures of things we have done to our trees in the past. We keep it traditional, but we use both traditional and fun ornaments.

(2012 - I can't wait to get a new picture this year... 20 lbs lighter and longer hair!)

2011.

Mimi loves Matthews too! I don't know what happened to that jersey. :(

Olivia - her last Christmas in 2011.

Here are some tree ideas from Longwood Gardens as well. They have the best displays each year.

Great idea for your outdoor trees!

This was my favorite! This would be a fun project!

I love this musical chain. This would be awesome! With the guitar on top too:
