Preparing Cod For Baccala

Cod soaking earlier. Mom rinsed it off before bed and it's in a fresh pot of water. We change the water every 8 hours or so. 


Today I started soaking the cod for the baccala. Every year nan would make this dish for Christmas Eve. It's part of the Feast of the Seven Fishes. This will be my first year making the dish and I look forward to it. However, since we're going to my aunt's for Christmas Eve (and I have a bread pudding to make for it), I will be making it on Christmas. Mom will fry it in the oil on the grill.
