Deutsche Weihnachten Dorf im Philadelphia

Yesterday after mom, dad and I ate at Campo's, we rode the el back to 15th Street to go to Love Park for the German Christmas Village. They have it every year and it runs from Thanksgiving until Christmas Eve. I always thought it was neat, but never bought anything.

We went into Kathe Wohlfarte, a Christmas ornament shop. I went to Kathe Wohlfarte's when I was in Rothenberg ob der Tauber, Germany when I went in high school. I bought an ornament when I was there in 2007. The tent that was set up in Love Park was just like the one in Rothenberg ob der Tauber and had the same ornaments. I love the German ornaments - they're so beautiful. Mom bought a few when we were there. I bought an Advent Calender. I can't wait to start it on Monday:

It was a cold day yesterday in Philadelphia - 22 degrees with a windchill of 15 and it was flurrying. I loved it. We walked around to the other shops set up in Love Park, but we didn't buy anything else. It was really crowded. Near the LOVE statue, they had Christmas trees set up, but that was crowded too. Between the cold and crowds, we only stayed an hour. I want to go back in December when it's less crowded, get some more pictures and go to the ice skating rink in front of city hall. The ice skating rink is opened only for the holidays.

I wore my favorite shirt. :)

  2. I think there's an ice skating rink open here in the center of Nottingham. I'll have to look. It's cold here and cold where you are!

    1. I think I'm going to go on Thursday. I was terrible at it when I was a kid - but I can hold onto the side!
