It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown!

I love this time of year - I love the leaves changing colours, the coolness (though for the past few days it has been in the 70s and humid in King of Prussia), getting darker earlier, Halloween and of course It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl. Year after year, nan, mom, dad and me would gather 'round the TV and watch this classic.

I love Charlie Brown's costume: the ghost with way too many holes because he had a "scissor accident." Of course, he's the outcast because he only receives rocks in his treat bags and well, he's disliked by almost everyone. As my one writing.com buddy said: Charlie Brown is the classic old soul.

He was invited to a costume party after the "tricks-or-treats," but as Lucy said in the beginning: he must have been a mistake since he should have been on the "DO NOT INVITE" list - poor Charlie, but like all old souls...

...but despite the rocks, him being used as a model for jack-o-lanterns, he has a better Halloween that Linus who waits, along with Sally, in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin. Oh, kids and their beliefs...

I believe this has been aired since the late 1960s, but if you haven't watched It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown! I'd recommend it. It's a classic and can be enjoyed by all ages.

    1. When I used to attend the Catholic Church, for my Confirmation name I was going to choose Lucy for St. Lucy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saint_Lucy), but with Bernadette instead since Bernadette's death and what she was known for wasn't as gruesome as Saint Lucy's...

    1. We have it at the library, but the DVD I rented didn't play right with our one DVD player. :( I love Charlie Brown - he has always been my favorite. The Christmas one is great too.
