Getting Close to the Hosts of Friendly Ghosts...

Well, I found the starch and it worked a bit better today - still didn't come out like it turned out in Spooky & Bright.

Boo. :(

I'm just going to find tissue paper and stuff the head. Everything else is stiff, but the head doesn't keep shape. Here are the directions from Spooky & Bright:

Friendly Ghosts
To set up a workstation, stack one small paper cup atop another that's turned upside down. Inflate a small balloon and rest it in the top cup. Cut cheesecloth into pieces that measure about eight inches square and fill a bowl with fabric stiffener.

  • Step 1: soak a piece of cheesecloth in fabric stiffener and immediately drape it over the balloon. Let dry for 10 minutes.
  • Step 2: pop the balloon with a pin to reveal a hardened shape. Cut two tiny circles out of black felt for eyes and affix them to the ghost with tacky glue.
  • Step 3: remove the ghost from the cup and use your fingers to rough up the ends of the cheesecloth. Thread fishing line through the top of each ghost, securing with a knot to hang.

Maybe it was because I used fruit... who knows. I have a little shape with it and it's stiff like I said. I don't think tissue paper would make it look bad. I'll post at a later time...

...I was going to give one to Madrox and Monoxide with their cards, but instead I'm giving them a candy treat bag. :D

    1. Crafts are intense. :p Nah, these were a bugger. I'm going to try the ghosts with the paper machete wedding bells... they're not as involved and they should work!

    1. I was actually thinking about doing that. But with that last minute interview last week and prepping for the concert, I just ran out of time. That would have been really cool.
