Thankful Thursday 7/31/14

Today I feel thankful for Aunt Kathy. She said she will help me with a mock interview for a 2nd job here as I wait for Wisconsin. This mock interview will help me feel comfortable in any situation, especially a phone interview for when the time comes. :) Yesterday I was speaking to my former coworker and I said, "It seems like now that I've changed locations to Wisconsin, more people want to help." She replied, "Yeah because Wisconsin is nicer, that was your original plan and no one wants to see their relative in Detroit in its current state." So true. I applied for some more local jobs today and will be applying more in Wisconsin. Ah, I'm so excited and have good feelings about Green Bay.

I also want to thank Dr. Ni for telling me about WyzAnt. Check out my profile: Jessica's Tutoring Profile;
if you or anyone you know needs tutoring, there's the link and there are many wonderful tutors on WyzAnt.

    1. I seem to do okay with face to face because I can see the other person. With a phone interview, I can't see the other person and I get nervous (more than usual). Someone did suggest using a mirror to see your expressions and apparently it helps.

  2. Don't worry about it and life will unfold for us both. I wrote 1801 words of my newest novel, Verst After Verst! My goal was 1786 words a day which is how many words one would have to write to hit 50,000 in February, my largest concern, and I plan something like this for the next five years, just to say I've been doing something with myself besides sleeping around Chester County with the less innocuous members of the Russian department. *clears throat*
    I started it last night, so I might want to shoot for 1938 instead, adding the 152 words I thought of last night, but this is already above and beyond the NaNoWriMo standard of 1667, and right now Xe is curled up asleep on the side of the train compartment so I don't want to disturb her.
    I had been thinking as I wrote about how everyone learns something different in a different way, so it's reasonable she understands all that I do, nothing more, nothing less.

    I am thankful for many things, probably the most important of which being your continued friendship :) At least for the continuity of this comment.

    1. Awww, I'm thankful for the continued friendship as well.

      Hey, I think you're right! I think I worried too much about Detroit, then realized it wasn't for me. I think those employers sensed worry and whatnot and probably thought of it as desperation. I found something around here to hold me over, so fingers crossed. I guess I can just patiently work towards Wisconsin and not force it. I have good feelings about it, so I feel positive something will happen eventually. :)
