Iced Orange Green Tea
3 cups of water
1-4 teaspoons of white sugar
1/4 teaspoon or orange flavoring
4-12 teabags of green tea
Please remember I only made iced green tea for myself (dad doesn't like green tea and mom is away; besides, our only iced tea pitcher is already in use) so I used four bags of tea. Usually, if you are making iced tea for a lot of people, around 12 tea bags are used.
First, tie the tea bags together into a bunch. Pour three glasses of water into a pot and add a teaspoon or two into the water along with the 1/4 teaspoon of orange flavoring. Next, add the tea bags and turn the stove on to high heat. Stir occasionally. As the water warms, the tea will be released from the bags. Keep on the stove for about 10 minutes. Take the pot off the burner, remove tea bags and let the tea cool for 10 minutes.
As you wait for the tea to cool, take out a glass or pitcher (glass if it's only for you, pitcher for more than yourself) and fill it with ice. Add another 1-2 teaspoons of sugar. When I make iced tea for more than one, I add a cup of cold water for the pitcher. After the tea cools, pour into the pitcher or ladle it into your glass. Enjoy!
Letting the tea cool. Removed the tea bags.
As I sipped on this iced tea and relaxed, I had the joy of watching this:
