Iced Orange Green Tea

Pondering how awesome this orange flavored green tea is.

Today my boss let me off of work two hours early because I'm still not feeling 100%. She said I look flushed and tired, which makes sense since I didn't sleep last night from the hot flashes and being stuffy. I dislike summer colds. I made iced tea yesterday, but I wanted something decaffeinated with the couscous I made. I had green tea bags and decided I'd make an iced green tea with orange flavoring.

Iced Orange Green Tea
3 cups of water
1-4 teaspoons of white sugar
1/4 teaspoon or orange flavoring
4-12 teabags of green tea

Please remember I only made iced green tea for myself (dad doesn't like green tea and mom is away; besides, our only iced tea pitcher is already in use) so I used four bags of tea. Usually, if you are making iced tea for a lot of people, around 12 tea bags are used.

First, tie the tea bags together into a bunch. Pour three glasses of water into a pot and add a teaspoon or two into the water along with the 1/4 teaspoon of orange flavoring. Next, add the tea bags and turn the stove on to high heat. Stir occasionally. As the water warms, the tea will be released from the bags. Keep on the stove for about 10 minutes. Take the pot off the burner, remove tea bags and let the tea cool for 10 minutes.

As you wait for the tea to cool, take out a glass or pitcher (glass if it's only for you, pitcher for more than yourself) and fill it with ice. Add another 1-2 teaspoons of sugar. When I make iced tea for more than one, I add a cup of cold water for the pitcher. After the tea cools, pour into the pitcher or ladle it into your glass. Enjoy!

Letting the tea cool. Removed the tea bags.

As I sipped on this iced tea and relaxed, I had the joy of watching this:

tee-hee, Monoxide Paul always cheers me up and makes me feel better. :D

Another post later. :) Enjoy the iced orange green tea! ~Jessica

  1. It was nice of your boss to let you off early. I hope you've improved - at least a little bit - since this post!

    1. I have! Mom is on business, so I have been hanging out here. I lollygagged today and I should write a few resumes. I'll send out two today. :) But, I probably won't take a walk - it's hot outside and I seem to burn up when it's really hot. I don't think that's the cold, I think it's just the weather. I hate hot weather.
