100 Days of Happy: Day #77/ Milka Chocolate

Day #77: I love the foreign candy aisle! This chocolate is from Poland. When Daniel would go back to Slovakia to visit his parents, he'd always bring this back for me. Same with his parents if they came to visit. :)

He has returned from Europe, run to the door,
in their arms, chocolate, purses and teddy bears!
Yet, to a five year old, no longer crying on the floor;
he has returned from Europe, run to the door,
let's hear of the stories of your Germany tour,
and with the lady bug hair clips, play with my hair--
he has returned from Europe, run to the door,
in their arms, chocolate, purses and teddy bears!

  1. I learned about the former Czechoslovakia a few years ago., when I was learning about the Prague Spring. Lots of political unrest.

I've heard I am Polish, but that only made me seem like a Soviet minion.
    Solidarity now!

Right now my friend is interviewing - I'm going to his place for post-mortem analysis this afternoon.

    1. Yeah. He is Slovak and if we said Czech, he'd get angry. So, I can imagine.

The chocolate is actually German. Oops! :\

  2. I don't think I've had Polish or German (noting the correction in your above comment) before! I've had Swiss and Belgian, though, and they're delicious.

    1. It's so good! I prefer European chocolate to American chocolate.

    2. Many Americans say that when they try foreign chocolates, but it does depend on the American chocolate. I always liked Russell Stover chocolates and many locally-made chocolates are nice, too.

    3. I grew up eating European chocolate since the foreign exchange student was here. I say he spoiled me with candy and nan spoiled me by making homemade Italian things. I refuse to eat boxed spaghetti -- I'll only eat homemade, same goes with sauce! Fortunately, nan wrote down both recipes and mom still makes it. So I can take to Detroit with me. :D

    4. I put a spaghetti machine on my wish list. :D I really hope people look at it. :\
