Milwaukee Zoo ghazals

Which do you like best? For me, I like the 2nd.

The city comes alive with many fast people,
900 miles away from home--strolling past people.

On the bus to the zoo bound; getting off last people,
African landscapes, peacocks tended by many mast people.

Watch up above you, macaws perch, run the gassed people,
but, alas, I find peace with zebras in the rushed cast people.

The city comes alive with many fast people,
900 miles away from home--strolling past people.

To the zoo I am bound--through hell or high water!
On the bus sitting a front, getting off last people;

African landscapes, peacocks roam the streets ahead
and macaws above in the trees tended by gassed people.

Zebras and lions and bears, oh my! In the grass they hide,
but, alas, I find peace with them in the rushed cast people!

  1. I like the second one, too; it has slightly more content.

    Love the rhyming here!

    1. Thank you. :) I personally love ghazals. I might write another one about love (as usually they're geared more towards the metaphysical).
