Beginning August 14

It's not done yet, but what do you think thus far?

Mom’s birthday. My first time that I’m away for her big day. I woke up around 7 and immediately texted her a big Happy Birthday. They were in Virginia; they were enjoying the beach at that time (Wisconsin is an hour behind the East Coast, it was already 8 or 8:30am) and strolling along looking at the birds, at least according to the pictures mom texted me. I laze around in my pajamas a bit while I watched the training camp reports on Green Bay’s local news channel. I’d be leaving what I hoped to be in an hour.

When I finally get out of my lazy funk, I visited the computer in the lobby. In the Ramada, internet is free for guests. I missed the 8:30am bus; I decided I’d go to Big D’s for breakfast because it was cheap, delicious and their Screwdrivers are to die for (who said drinking vodka at 7:30 in the morning wasn’t fun?). I decided to keep the alcohol out this morning—I knew it was bad to drink before sitting in the sun for most of the afternoon. It would be my first training camp and I wasn’t sure how long it would last. Instead I opted for the orange juice with a cinnamon bun and hash browns.

  1. Why is drinking alcohol especially bad sitting in the sunshine?

What are you planning with this piece of bloggage? Is it more than a personal narrative recording the moment?

At the present I am waiting for my oolong tea to steep. It's good enough for now.

What is Green Bay like, in opposition to West Chester?

    1. I want to say alcohol dehydrates you and that's really bad in the sun since you should be hydrated.

Green Bay is really small. Very friendly, though! It's not much different from Gettysberg, there are many shops, little eating establishments and a great transit authority.
